The BESS project will have an installed capacity of around 30 MWh, which will be installed at ENGIE Energía Perú’s ChilcaUno Thermoelectric Power Plant, and will allow the plant to operate at full capacity, which translates into more efficient energy for the country, as well as contributing to improve the stability of the national power grid.
[pdf] The contract is expected to be signed in the coming weeks, with the works scheduled for completion by the end of September 2026. The storage systems will be installed at CET Nord in Bălți, significantly contributing to the stability of the power grid and the integration of renewable energy sources.
[pdf] The systems are being built on two key locations – the 500 kV Absheron substation near the capital and the 220 kV Agdash substation in central Azerbaijan. According to AzerEnergy, construction is in progress, and key system components are being delivered to the sites.
