Cyprus is set to build its first large-scale electricity storage system within the next 16 months, according to Energy Minister George Papanastasiou. This move is key to supporting renewable energy sources like solar power, which currently face challenges due to the lack of storage.
[pdf] DTEK Group, together with the U.S. company Fluence, a global leader in energy storage, commissioned 200 MW of capacity with a total storage volume of 400 MWh. The new facilities, located in Kyiv and Dnipropetrovsk regions, can supply electricity to 600,000 Ukrainian households for two hours.
