[pdf] Freetown, Sierra Leone | 10 April 2025: The Republic of Sierra Leone today announced the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding with Hecate Global Renewables (HGR), and Africa50 to develop 100 MW of Renewable Energy projects including Battery Energy Storage Systems (“BESS”).
[pdf] The project is located in the Kom Ombo area of Aswan, Egypt, and was built as an expansion of an existing 500 MW PV power plant. The energy storage station has a capacity of 150 MW/300 MWh and consists of 72 battery containers, 36 PCS-integrated units, and an intelligent control system.
