Independent power producer (IPP) Verano Energy has closed a US$204 million financing for a 83MW/660MWh solar-plus-storage project in Chile. Located in the northern region of Atacama, the Domeyko Solar + Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) project is currently under construction.
[pdf] In Vanuatu, REnew Pacific has been pivotal in launching a $75 million solar generation and battery storage project. Developed in collaboration with New Zealand-based Infratec and French-owned Unelco, this project will considerably augment the country’s renewable energy capacity.
[pdf] It is reported that this solar + storage project, known as Quillagua, includes 221MW of solar photovoltaic capacity and a 1.2GWh battery energy storage system, capable of providing 200MW of continuous peak shaving power for 6.2 hours.
