Almost 70 MWp of rooftop solar capacity has been installed, making Montenegro a regional frontrunner in prosumer deployment. However, instead of leaving solar energy to wealthier households able to afford panels, Montenegro created a financing model that requires no upfront payments.
[pdf] Solar manufacturing in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region is projected to reach 44 GW by 2029, according to analysis by Wood Mackenzie. The consultancy is also expecting installations in the region to exceed 140 GW by the end of the decade.
[pdf] It will be built in collaboration with the German company Hyper Partners for $350 million. This project includes the first phase of a 200 MW solar power plant set to be online this year. The entire solar power project will be operational by 2025.
