Germany has concluded a recent tender for innovative renewable energy projects. The exercise drew 158 bids with a total capacity of 2,020 MW. The authorities awarded 29 projects with a total capacity of 486 MW. All selected projects were for PV plants combined with energy storage.
[pdf] DTEK Group, together with the U.S. company Fluence, a global leader in energy storage, commissioned 200 MW of capacity with a total storage volume of 400 MWh. The new facilities, located in Kyiv and Dnipropetrovsk regions, can supply electricity to 600,000 Ukrainian households for two hours.
[pdf] Independent power producer, Africa REN, has commissioned a 20MW of solar PV power plant with a 10MW/20MWh battery energy storage system (BESS) in Senegal. Named the Walo Storage project, it marks West Africa’s first solar installation with dedicated energy storage for frequency regulation.
